UKMERGĖ DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY

 

Plenty of sports events take place in Ukmergė: championships of strongmen, national and international judo competitions, dance contests, karate championships, and international football tournament dedicated for Town festival. Various sport camps are also organized. Annual spring and winter Derbies are arranged in the racecourse of the town. Rally driving races take place on the rally track “Versmė“, in the vicinity of a small town of Vidiškiai. Sport Centre of Ukmergė is one of the oldest educational institutions in the country. It began operating in 1953. There are 22 non-governmental sport organizations which have achieved high results by their activities. The field of physical training and sports in the district is managed by Education and Sports Division of the administration of municipality.
